This is the Tech Resume Inside Out book page for people in tech who have been impacted by layoffs or and are currently searching for a job. Is this the full book, or a more limited version?
The content is the full book, and then a little bit more, in a PDF format. This version has two additional, short sections that the original book does not have: a foreword for this edition, and a few additional job search resources listed. 

However, this version does not come with EPUB or MOBI versions, or docx resume templates.

This version does not contain the additional video content and discount codes that come with the Complete Edition either.

Can I share the pdf with my friends who are also out of a job?

No: instead, please ask them to get their own, complimentary copy, following the steps that you did.

Will there always be a free version?
Originally I said "No. This version will remain free until things get back to the "new normal." I expect (and hope) this to happen in the middle of 2021." However, as things returned to "normal," a wave of layoffs continued.

I am intending to offer this book while mass layoffs are (unfortunately) common enough across the tech industry.

No. This offer is for people who are out of a tech job, and actively looking. If you are still on a salary, you can decide if it is worth a $20 investment in the standard version of the book. I am keeping the price of the book deliberately affordable, to make it accessible for as many people as possible. Compare this price with the typical, $300+ resume review rates.

Can I buy the book, over requesting a discount code?
Of course! If you are planning to do so, I suggest you get the Tech Resume Inside Out standard version, though, as you'll get the EPUB and MOBI formats as well, and .docx resume templates.
